Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often should I have my piano tuned?

A: We recommend tuning your piano twice a year – once during the dry winter months and again in the humid summer. At minimum, once a year is essential to keep your piano sounding its best.

Q: What types of repairs can be done in-home?

A: We handle most common issues on-site, including sticky or broken keys, pedal adjustments, and minor action repairs. Larger jobs may require additional parts or workshop service.

Q: Why is climate control important, and what is a Dampp-Chaser system?

A: Changes in humidity can cause the wooden parts to swell or shrink, leading to tuning instability and possibly long-term damage. A Dampp-Chaser system regulates humidity inside your piano, protecting it year-round.

Q: What is a silent system, and can it be installed on my piano?

A: A silent system redirects the hammers to strike a special bar that triggers high-quality digital sounds, allowing you to play quietly with headphones. This is perfect for piano players with neighbours or anyone who wants to practice at any time of day. We provide professional in-home installation for both grand and upright pianos.

Q: How do I know which service my piano needs?

A: If your piano goes out of tune quickly, feels uneven, or doesn’t sound the way you’d like, it may need tuning, regulation, voicing, or repair. We can provide a professional evaluation of your piano to point you to the right service.
