Action regulation refers to the procedure of adjusting and aligning all the moving parts, lubrication of friction points and tightening of the piano action so that the mechanism is performing in its peak form.

 

Action regulation consists of circa 25 adjustment steps and it usually includes:

 

  • Key levelling,

  • Hammer line and height,

  • Hammer to string alignment,

  • Escapement,

  • drop motion

  • repetition engagement

  • back checking
