This rare instrument has been remanufactured in Europe with the highest quality materials. The acoustics component features new German Heller bass strings, Röslau treble strings, Klinke high-grade tuning pins, and a new wrestplank for enhanced tuning stability.
 
The art case, adorned with turned legs and a lyre, was refinished in ebony and sprayed with polyester.
The original soundboard was repaired and revarnished to retain its genuine tone qualities form Debussy's era. The bridges were recapped with European beech wood to Bechstein's specifications.
The original Schwander action was reconditioned and equipped with new German shanks and Bechstein hammers.
 
The Bechstein A1 measures 5 ft 11 in (182 cm) in length and features a modern 88-key keyboard.
